The surge of magic that whirled around them with the turning of the ring carries through and carries them onward, spinning wildly around them and spinning time itself in the process as they go through the door.

(a pirate's life for me)

He's laughing still as all four of them cross the portal from Milliways into the cave on the Isla de Muerta, but then he turns to face the others. Wicked mischief and an odd sort of pride are evident in his flashing smile and his overly elaborate, swaying bow.

"Welcome to the Caribbean, mates."

Just barely visible through the mouth of the cave, if one were to look, the Black Pearl can be seen lying at anchor in the bay beyond.

Archie and Svava follow Jack through the door, hand in hand. Archie glances around the cave with it's piles of gold and the light slanting through the celing.

"Nice place you've got for yourself, Captain. Does it alway open to here?"

"... The Curse of the Aztec Gold, and the isle..." Wellard just grins, looking around at the cavern and treasure, then back to the others.

"Certainly. Is it true that no one can find it, unless they know where it is, then?" He steps down to the edge of the water, one foot scuffing along the edge and causing ripples to flare out over the previously still surface.

Oooh. Treasure. Jack's treasure, though- So Svava only grins, looking about and following over with Archie.

"But if there are others that come from your world and time, there are more than likely other doors as well. Aside from this one, at least."

The cavern is not quiet, however- there is the tinkling of some (uncursed) coins as they spill and clatter across the way. However, with the size of the cavern, and carrying bags of things themselves, the noise may not be noticed.

Pirate treasure, and they are meant to be acting like pirates just now, aren't they? Still, Archie just grins around at the place.

"Aye, and that would be the chest, would it?"

Yeah, that chest sitting so conspicuously in the center of the cavern. He turns to Svava and gives her a breif run-down of the legend, sotto voce.

"Just leave that bit alone, it's cursed. It's supposed to turn you into a walking corpse."

Svava blinks, and eyes the chest with trepidation. She has issues with the undead- it will be easy for her to stay far, far away from it.

Wellard grins at Jack. "The Pearl I do believe, sir. Some things are much more important than treasure." He hefts his seachest up easily, glancing to the shore's edge in the cavern for the longboat.

Archie wraps his arms around Svava for a gentle hug.

"It all depends on what your definition of 'treasure' is, lad."

He scoops up the heavier of their luggage and follows close behind Wellard to the longboat.

"Its rather what you make of it, sir." Wellard grins to Archie, and sets his sea chest down by the long boat.

With the hamper from Bar, and the other things Svava packed for her and Archie, it takes the others some time to get things sorted and aboard.

Enough time for Wellard to spot the monkey eyeing them from atop an overturned chest (of clothes, oddly enough). He raises an eyebrow, and kneels down to look at it more closely.

There is a mild arguement between Archie and Svava over which should go in first to balance things out, and how exactly to wedge the food in so that it won't get wet... but in the end all is settled, and they turn about, looking for anything they may have missed.

Well, one thing that would not do to leave behind. Svava is already stepping into the long boat with Archie's help, before she looks over.

"Wellard! Come over, you don't want to be left behind, do you?"

"Right!" He calls back, before looking to the monkey again.

"- you heard Mrs Kennedy. Woudn't do to be left behind, right?" Wellard holds out an arm-

And the monkey jumps on, circling around his shoulders quickly, causing Wellard to laugh, before darting to hide in his coat. Up to his feet, Wellard hurries over to climb into the long boat carefully.

Another ship would probably have a full crew and some extras in case anyone was lost in the raiding. This is something the Pearl does not have at the moment, they'd not stand a chance in a fair fight. Unfair is a different story though. All in all they are wise to wait for the oppertune moment.

"I've never been to either, so I can't imagine, really."

Unfair is usually the way to fight if you wish to survive, afterall-

And Svava's rune magic works quite well in this world, as a couple Barbary pirate ships were quick to find out.

She grins, leaning against Archie as she looks out over the ocean. "It sounds like some place in Italy- is it?"

Jack is just about to answer her-

"Sail sighted! Sail three points astern!" Wellard calls, then turns to study it further though his spyglass.

British Navy.

Archie dashes up to join him, taking the glass the younger man automatically hands to him.

"Too far away to tell much... Except that she's not French... Not Pirates... Bloody hell, I think she's Navy."

They've been spotted, of course, and recognised, and the Interceptor II is a similar buzz of activity as Norrington barks his own orders to the crew.

And the pursuit begins.

From: [identity profile] prone-to-panic.livejournal.com

Archie snaps the glass shut and hands it back to Wellard.

"It would be madness to try to fight her this short on crew."

Not to mention the fact that he really doesn't want to get into a fight with a Navy ship. Especially Norrington's. They need to run, they've got the wind, but the Interceptor has the crew, and they're catching.

"We'll need more sail on her if we want to stay out of range of her guns."

"More sails up, and we can get moving faster." Svava nods, biting her lip, looking at the persuing ships. "I can certainly do something of the sort to get us a better wind, if we have the sails to catch it!"

She has learned some of sailing here, but better to let those that know it better get the sails ready- Svava's expertise lies in other areas.

Kaunaz for the ship and it burns on the air like a simmering fever, until cooled by the shimmering blues of Laguz- water, river, lake, ocean of the location. Raido spinning, searches for a location until Sowulo guides it away with the sought-for blessing, and the last bit of luck, the last rune to complete the spell and set the wind in their sails, Per-

Svava's hand is in midair when the monkey drops down on her, screeching. She shrieks, and the rune spell breaks and goes awry- exploding outwards before sinking into the ocean.

"Aye sir!" Up in the rigging, Wellard starts hauling in one of the lines, helped by one of the other crew members, to get the sails unfurled so they can slowly catch the wind.

The Black Pearl was the fastest ship on the ocean, was she not? And had never been caught while under the command of Captain Jack Sparrow? The fastest ship on the ocean-

Of course, you never turn down any luck when it happens your way, either.

The water along side the ship begins to writhe and boil- and thankfully the Pearl moves past that area as the sea begins to rise up, slowly...

And Archie hurries down below, already shouting orders to the guncrew. Luckily for all of them, the crew have already come to the conclusion that these friends of Jacks are people who Know What They're Doing, and rush to obey. Though their sternchasers aren't going to be any match for a full broadside, should it come to that...
